SEPTEMBER 2009
"The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved." Jeremiah 8:20
What a sad verse. This is what many people around the world are saying. However, our merciful God is longsuffering and is waiting for more people to come to him before Jesus comes back for us, His bride. However, we are happy to report that one more precious soul in Tlahuac can now say that the summer is ended and she IS saved. Praise the Lord that Silvia, the aunt of our guitar player, accepted Christ in the services this month. We are convinced God is at work in the hearts and lives of the people in Tlahuac. We want to be faithful to minister to them in whatever manner we can. Once again, we have started a new round of English classes. We have around 35 returning students and 20 or so new students. Praise the Lord for the opportunity to meet and interact with these folks on a weekly basis. We continued our Sunday morning services with an average of 10 in attendance and 11 first time visitors throughout the month.
In Kids Club we finished up our series on heroes of the Faith. We averaged 11 children during August and had 3 first time visitors. We are so thankful for your support and prayers that is enabling us to minister to the lives of the people in Tlahuac.
September looks to be a busy month. All of our regular ministries will continue plus we will be having a special Independence Party on the night of September 15th. We have planned lots of games, a great supper of Pozole, and more games. Alcohol is such an integral part of any celebration here that the people of our mission are excited to have a place to celebrate that will be a wholesome and healthy environment for the whole family, without alcohol. We have also invited the families from or English classes to join us that evening. So far 3 families have said they will be coming and have signed up to bring stuff. Pray for us that the mission will make a big impact on these families for Christ.
We are also planning to start an attendance campaign in September. We are thinking of a using a fishing theme and competing men against the women. The losing team will have to serve the winning team a special supper. The reality is that no one loses if new people are brought to the services and hear the Gospel message.Special Request
We have the opportunity to rent the store front next to ours. This would enable us to have the space to have a children's church and/or nursery as needed Also, it would allow us space to meet or counsel with people at the same time English classes are going on. Please pray that we will know God's will in this matter. We know we need more space one day, but just want to be sure that one day has come and the time is right to take this step of faith.
Michael's Corner
Michael is officially 16 now. He also has started his Sophomore year of high school. Please continue to pray for him as he seeks God's will for his future.
As always, your faithfulness is such a blessing. Your prayers and financial support make it possible for us to work in Mexico City. We know for many it is a sacrifice of love and we appreciate it very much.Your partners in the harvest,
James, Lori, and Michael BradleyTaking the message of Salvation from the Heart of God to the Heart of Mexico
