DECEMBER 2009
It's almost the end of 2009 and what a year it has been. November was also an incredible month in Tlahuac. We finished our attendance campaign on November 8th with Friend Day. We had 35 in attendance, 25 of which were first time visitors. Praise the Lord! Some of these families have participated in our children's ministries or English classes, but this was the first time they came to a church service. We have seen some of the families continue to attend other services since Friend Day. For us, this is the sign of a successful Friend Day. In total, we had 30 first time visitors in November and an average attendance of 15.2. During the fellowship time after the service, an older man passed by and asked James for a bottle. James told him that he wouldn't give him a "bottle", but James and Tonny proceeded to share Christ with the man. We don't know if he made a decision to accept Christ, but when he passed by the following Saturday, we almost didn't recognized him. He was sober, clean, and looked 10 years younger. Please pray for Martin.
We have continued to have Kids Club every Saturday morning. We averaged 14 during the month of November and I am happy to report that five (5) young ladies received Christ. Silvia has been helping us in Tlahuac since August and what a blessing she is. She was able to follow up with each young lady, one on one, andconfirm their decisions to accept Christ. Please pray for Perla, Melen, Brenda, Samantha, and Carolina as they continue to come and grow in Christ.
Another first took place in November. We were able to give our first missionary support. We have chosen to support Thomas Gomez, a Mexican missionary serving in Spain. He has been in Spain for many years and is really struggling due to the present economic situation and exchange rate. I think our people have a better understanding of the need and the process of supporting missionaries since we are in Tlahuac because of the faithful prayers and giving of you, our supporting churches.

We also had our monthly ladies meeting on the 21st. We had 6 ladies present. Several were not able to come due to illness. The common cold/flu is going around. We are very thankful that we have stayed healthy through this time. Also, we are thankful that we have not seen any H1N1 flu among our people. Praise the Lord for his protection.
We are preparing for our first youth meeting on Saturday, December 12th. Michael is excited about helping to plan and prepare for this event. Please pray for the many young people we have encountered through our English classes and other ministries that they will attend and hear the message of salvation and respond.Prayer Requests:
1. December 12th - Youth meeting
2. December 19th - Christmas
Play
3. December 20th - Mission
Christmas party
4. People to respond to the gospel
and accept Christ.Michael's Corner
He is advancing in his guitar playing and learning more songs. He has even played in the Friday night Bible study. He will be helping coordinate the music for the youth meeting and we are hopeful that this will give him a ministry that he can enjoy. He is also hoping to take Driver's Ed during Christmas vacation.
As we approach this special time of the year, we are so thankful to be serving our Lord here in Mexico City. There are still times that we miss the United States, our many friends, and English, but we wouldn't trade our lives as missionaries for anything. As we think about the little baby in the manger who was sent to earth to provide salvation for mankind, our prayer is that we will be even more committed to sharing this salvation with the lost all around us. The greatest gift we can give, at Christmas and throughout the whole year, is the gift of life- - eternal life. We want to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a season full of the blessings of God.
Feliz Navidad
