November 2008

O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good!  We are truly thankful for all God's blessings in our lives, particularly those blessings He gives us through your prayers.

Michael Williams is one of the young men that has been coming to our services, Sunday School, Awana Club, and Manna Feeding Center since he was a very young child. The seed was planted, and watered over many years, and now he has accepted Christ, and been baptized!  In the beginning of the ministry in Trench Town, baptism was so rare, it was difficult to be patient, waiting for the crops to produce.  Hallelujah, the last year we have been baptizing believers nearly every month!

We also had the privilege of sharing the Lord's Table this last month.  What a sweet time of fellowship for the believers at the International Baptist Church, as we had our first communion service.  It was also special at God's Way A Baptist Church, although not our first communion with this church, all of the participants this year are new believers that had not taken communion before, what a joy to look around and see the fruit!

Christmas is coming, and we are preparing to celebrate Christ's birth!  Please pray especially for the children's Christmas program in Trench Town on Sunday, December 14, at 4:00.  The kids have been working very hard, but we usually have a difficult time getting the parents to come and watch their children, and hear the gospel message. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will convict hearts, and we might see a ripe harvest among the parents.

The International Baptist Church's Thanksgiving Day celebration will be special this year because we have the privilege of sharing it with some of the 6 marines who guard the US Embassy here in Kingston.  We are so thankful for their service to our country, and feel it is a great honor to be able to share this special holiday with them in our home.  Happy Thanksgiving to you and those who share your table this year!
