Meet The Rogers:

Will and Dorothy met while attending Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College in San Dimas, CA in 1979.  They were married the following year on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1980.  To this day, Will maintains that they were married on this date so that he would never be able to forget their anniversary!  (He usually has Dorothy's birthday covered as well, as she was born just 3 days after him on December 18th!) In the years to follow, God blessed this couple with 4 wonderful children: Sarah, born Jan. 18, 1981; Nathan, born Sept. 8, 1982; Susanna, born June 26, 1985; and Sharon, born Sept. 19, 1987.

Will and Dorothy left California in the Fall of 1981 to return to Will's home state of Washington.  They settled along the lovely (and wet!) Washington coast, where they planted a new church, Bible Baptist Church, in the town of Aberdeen.  After a couple of years the new congregation moved into an older church building that they renovated, that came to be affectionately referred to in the community as 'the mustard church' (don't laugh - the paint was donated and caused the church to be noticed far and wide!).

In 1987 The Rogers left this work and were approved as missionaries with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. For the next 18 months they traveled and spoke in hundreds of churches, sharing their burden to reach souls with the Gospel of Christ in Thailand.  Early in 1989 they arrived in Thailand and located in the far Northeast of the country in the city of Udorn Thani, near the capitol of Laos.  There they studied the language and assisted the ministry of Missionary Butch Krenz, and learned how to survive on 'sticky rice' and 'somtham' (with an occasional fish's head or chicken's foot thrown in!).  In their second year, they oversaw the ministry while the Krenz family furloughed in the U.S.

After a brief stay in the U.S. of their own, the family relocated in Nakorn Pathom, Thailand, where they set to work planting another new church.  By the end of 1994 they were beginning to see some progress in the work, when their labors were cut short by an unexpected illness in their oldest daughter, Sarah.  They returned to the States in 1995 where Sarah was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.  It was then they learned that returning to Thailand was not an option. However, even though the work in Nakorn Pathom went unattended for almost 1 year, by the grace of God and the help of other missionaries in the country, the work survived and now has its own national pastor.

In 1996 God moved The Rogers to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where they worked with the Fred Davis Family in helping to build up the Chinese Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Not being able to return to Asia, God gave them the next best thing in the Vancouver area, which boasts an incredibly high concentration of Asian peoples (over 1/3 of the total population).  God blessed this missionary partnership between The Davises and The Rogers with great love and fellowship.

In the Summer of 2001 God opened another door for Will and Dorothy and their family.  The Bible Baptist Church of Richmond, BC, founded by Missionary Mike Tester, had become without a pastor . The Rogers accepted the leadership of this church and today they are still laboring there.

Will and Dorothy have enjoyed over 20 years of exciting and fruitful
ministry in a wide variety of places.  In the mean time, they have  watched their children grow up and each develop their own love for knowing and serving the Lord.  Sarah is now in college studying elementary education.  Nathan is in Bible college studying missions. Susie is also in Bible college, and Sharon is in her final year of High School.  They are all active in their local churches.

No one has to tell Will and Dorothy that God is good - they know it from much personal experience!  They can look behind them and see a trail of rewarding and enduring relationships scattered all over the world.  Looking ahead, they can see only more and more blessings of the same kind!  They very much appreciate your prayers and earnestly look forward to enjoying your fellowship both now and in eternal glory in the presence of the Lord in Heaven.

Pray for the Will Rogers family.
