The Rogers Family News Update

June 12, 2002

Dear Faithful Friends,

A couple of months ago, the ladies at our Richmond congregation confided in me that they were praying that God would let us work with their church full-time (as you know, we have been preaching for this church every Sunday afternoon and Wednesday night since last July).  It seems that God heard their prayers.  God has finally worked it out so that we might be free to devote our full attention to building this church back up.  We will continue our partnership with the Davises and the Vancouver church, however, in certain ministries.

Starting in July, we will be moving the services of the Richmond church back to Sunday morning, and will be adding a Sunday night evangelistic outreach.  As I wrote last time, this church is currently averaging about 15-20 in attendance.  Pray that God would enable us to see this number increase, and more importantly, that many souls would be saved!

For PRAISE & PRAYER:

* Thank you for praying for Dave and George’s salvation!  Dave was saved a few weeks ago!  This is the first soul that we have seen come to Christ in our time in Richmond!  Keep praying for George, who has been listening to the Gospel lately.

* Thank you for praying for my family after the unexpected death of my father.  The funeral was a real blessing!  All of my family was able to be there, including my missionary brother, Jason, home from the field in Nicaragua, and Sarah and Nathan, who were home from college.  Jason and I preached the service, and Nathan preached at the gravesite (he did a great job too!).  Dad had been walking with the Lord and left a good testimony behind.  Please keep my mom in your prayers.

* After the funeral, Sarah decided to stay home for a while.  She is not doing too badly, but she still has many problems to face and a great uphill climb with her health.  Thanks for praying!

* Speaking of Nathan, he will be participating in a missions project this Summer that will involve students from the college traveling to Cambodia to build a dormitory for Bible students there.  The students will also be raising the money for this project.  Please pray that this work will be blessed by God.

We are very, very thankful for your steadfast partnership in this ministry.  One of the things I look forward to in Heaven is to thank each and every one of you personally and properly.  Above all things, we pray that God will richly reward you for your sacrifices.

In Christ,
