God Bless Our Home

The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Proverbs 3:33

We are living in uncertain times. The news reports are not promising. Wickedness and corruption are abounding, and our nation is suffering because of it. God’s judgment may be on America, but Christians don’t have to worry about being taken down with the wicked. Our verse promises blessing on our habitation, our home.
I was reading this week about the ten plagues that fell on Egypt. God sent Moses to deliver the children of Israel out of captivity and slavery. The Israelites were living right next to Egypt, yet every one of the plagues were stayed at the border.
If your neighbor loses his house, does that mean you will lose yours? If she loses her job will you lose yours? Will you have to trim your spending, or change your lifestyle a little? I don’t know. But I know that when God promises something, He will come through. He promises to bless our homes. He will make sure we have a home and will provide our food and other needs.
It is hard to figure out what to do to prepare for the economic crisis we are in. God provided for the children of Israel when they fled Egypt. They were slaves and had nothing, but God had them borrow gold jewelry from the Egyptians. That is what they used to trade with after they escaped. He can provide for us in unexpected ways too. I have this poem on my desk:

God has a thousand ways
Where I can see not one,
When all my means have reached their end,
Then His have just begun.

We need to stay attuned to God through prayer and Bible reading and ask His wisdom every day, in everything. He will bless the homes of the just because the just live by faith.
