After beginning deputation in April 200, Heather and Tony arrived in Costa Rica for language training on January 14, 2002. 

They attended language school 15 hours per week for one year. 

While in Costa Rica. Tony and Heather had the privilege of working with Randy and Sherry Rhotond.  Given opportunities to put their language skills into practice, the Williams taught a Sunday school class of 10 & 11 year old boys and girls.  They also participated in visitation and Vacation Bible School as well as other preaching and teaching opportunities.  Tony was in charge of the sound and PowerPoint for church services.  Heather worked with Junior church and assisted at ladies meetings and banquets. 

During their two years in Costa Rica, the Williams were able to visit Nicaragua several times to determine where God would have them live and work.  Following the Lord’s leadership, Tony and Heather transitioned to Nicaragua in October 2003. 
 

Heather and Tony plan on working in the city of León, the second largest city with a population of over 200,000.  This former capital of Nicaragua was founded in 1524.  Like the rest of Nicaragua, this city is predominately Catholic.  It is home to the largest Cathedral in Central America.
